It’s a full-on downtown adventure designed to celebrate the incredible local businesses that line our streets, and to give you an excuse to explore every hidden gem Ripley has to offer. What is a Shop Hop?
Think of it like a town-wide treasure hunt, on foot, with shopping bags. A Shop Hop is a self-guided tour of participating downtown businesses, where each stop offers something special: exclusive discounts, giveaways, samples, door prizes, or simply the joy of discovering a shop you’ve never been in before. You set your own pace, make your own route, and shop at every spot that catches your eye.
It’s a beloved community tradition in small towns across the South because it does something beautiful: it connects neighbors, drives folks through doors they might not have opened otherwise, and reminds everyone just how rich and vibrant a local downtown can be.
Why Downtown Ripley?
Downtown Ripley isn’t just a shopping district, it’s a living, breathing piece of Mississippi history. Anchored by the iconic Courthouse Square at the junction of Main, Spring, Commerce, and Jefferson Streets, our downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ripley Main Street Association, a non-profit established in 2001, has poured its heart into revitalizing and preserving this district.
